21-Day Fix Meal Plan: November 30, 2015

I don't know about you, but I'm very much looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow with the 21-Day Fix meal plan.  I haven't missed a workout all week, but food choices have definitely been poor.  I enjoyed every minute of it and don't regret a THING!

Week 4 of my Body Beast/21-Day Fix Extreme hybrid starts tomorrow.  Body Beast is unlike anything I've done so far and if this doesn't prepare me for Hammer and Chisel (which releases in TWO DAYS) I don't know what will!  My team and I have already decided we will be running a couples H&C challenge group starting January 11th.  You can find 2 of the Hammer and Chisel workouts on Beachbody On Demand right now and if you don't already have a coach, but want to try BOD FREE for 30 days, fill out the form at the bottom OR send me a friend request and message on Facebook.  

Here is the meal plan I am following this week.  Each color represents a different color coded portion control container (keep scrolling for more info on my 21-Day Fix challenge groups).

I am following the 1800-2099 calorie bracket and eating on the regular 21-Day Fix meal plan, not the Extreme.  I am on the maintenance plan and am not eating at a deficit.  You will need to figure out the bracket that is right for you.  And if you are not already actively working with a Beachbody coach and you need help getting started, simply create a FREE Beachbody account with me as your coach HERE

Here are a couple of the recipes from this week: 

Honey Mustard Dressing

1/2 cup reduced fat Greek yogurt
3 TBSP Dijon Mustard
3 TBSP honey
3 TBSP rice vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
sea salt to taste

Combine all of the ingredients except for the olive oil, whisk well to combine.  Slowly add oil until well blended.

The Master's Hammer and Chisel EXCLUSIVE Test Group - Be the FIRST to try!

I am beyond excited that Beachbody is releasing the NEWEST fitness program called The Master's Hammer and Chisel in ONE week  - December 1st!!  I've been doing the two sneak peeks on Beachbody On Demand and I absolutely fell in love with it.  I'm currently doing a hybrid of Body Beast and the 21-Day Fix Extreme in order to prep myself for it - I seriously CANNOT wait!

I fell in love with strength training doing Insanity Max:30 in the beginning of the year and then P90X3 for really the last 9 months off and on.  So far with the hybrid, I LOVE Body Beast - Sagi Kalev's program has really challenged me and improved my strength, flexibility, tone and endurance. And of course I love the 21-Day Fix food plan (follow me on Pinterest where I post my 21-Day Fix meal plans weekly!).  Autumn's portion controlled container system seriously has been a game changer for me and for my customers in their success with mastering clean eating and nutrition!!



I will definitely be getting my copy of this program the minute it launches on December 1st and not a second later.  It's going to be EPIC!!  My husband I have both committed to completing this program and we will be running an exclusive TEST group for people just like you who want support in getting results!!  Date to be determined, but it will be after the New Year!


Let's talk details...

Hammer and Chisel is an expert workout system that delivers breathtaking, body-changing results in 60 days!  Trainers Sagi Kalev and Autumn Calabrese are amazing experts at sculpting bodies and have tons of awards to prove it!  This program is sharing their strategies for resistance training to shape powerful muscles, shred body fat and build a ripped physique.  In my case, I'm not going to be competing on stage, but I do want to feel my best!  Plus, muscle burns FAT and keeps your metabolism FIRED up!  This is a 60-day program and each workout ranges from 30-40 minutes which is perfect.  As a busy mom, anything longer I cannot do...I gotta get in, get going and get out.

What do you need for this program?

You do not need a ton of space, but you do need some equipment!  You need dumbbells...5 - 20 pounds for women depending on your strength.  A pull-up bar or over the door attachment for resistance bands.  And a weight bench or stability ball.

Optional equipment and items:
  • Team Beachbody Club Membership so you can stream the workouts
  • Beachbody Performance Line supplements such as:
                - Recover (post workout drink and my favorite!)
                - Recharge (overnight recovery)
                - Energize (pre-workout)
                - Hydrate (during)

Roasted Acorn Squash

A few weeks ago we were at our local farmers' market when I saw what I thought were gourds and picked them up because I thought they would make a great fall decoration.  As I was paying, I was informed that what I picked up was an acorn squash and that I needed to EAT it!  So...after a bit of research, I decided to try roasting it.  Even my husband, who was totally unsure, could not stop raving about this roasted acorn squash! 


They really could not be easier to prepare!  Cut in half (ok, yes that is the hard part!! Good knife and a steady hand!), remove the seeds and it's 4 ingredients - butter, coconut sugar, cinnamon and sea salt.  Be prepared because it does take a little over an hour for these to roast. I honestly had no idea they would take that long and they weren't exactly ready when the rest of our dinner was...


Such a great fall side dish!  I served ours with Crock Pot rotisserie chicken.  With the leftovers the next day, I scraped out the squash, then mixed diced chicken together and it was amazing.  Clean eating is fun and does not have to be boring...


Acorn squash is a winter squash and when choosing one, it should feel firm on the outside with no blemishes.  Don't they look pretty even after being roasted?  This dish would be a beautiful side for the Holidays.  And they are a great source of vitamins - A (beta carotene from the orange flesh) and C, also iron and riboflavin.  Enjoy!!


Serves 4
Roasted Acorn Squash

2 small acorn squash, cut in half and seeds removed
4 teaspoons organic butter
4 teaspoons coconut sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
sea salt

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Assemble acorn squash on a baking sheet. Place 1 teaspoon of butter and coconut sugar in each half.  Add 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon in each and season with salt.  Bake until golden and tender, about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, basting flesh of squash several times. Serve warm.
